At Arts on Fire
XIV in 2010, juror Philip E. Linhares, Chief Curator of Art
at the Oakland Museum of California, selected McNear #5
by photographer Henrik Kam and Untitled by mixed media
sculptor Rig Terrell, a Sanchez studio artist, for awards that included
an exhibit in the East Gallery in 2011. This exhibit promises to
be a strong one. Kam’s photographic works are large, spare, and
quietly impressive, while Terrell’s work blends the pure beauty
of organic form with whimsy and thought-provoking creativity.

Sanchez Art Center
is located at 1220 Linda Mar Blvd., 1.5 miles from Highway 1, in
Pacifica, in the buildings with the colorful mural. Following the
April 8 opening festivities, galleries are open to the public Fridays,
Saturdays, and Sundays from 1 to 5 pm, through May 15.
